Shipping

Our speciality is transport of cars by Ro/Ro vessels (roll on / roll off). Through our worldwide Ro/Ro network we arrange shipping between Norway and most destinations worldwide: to the continent, England, Russia, Finland, USA, South-America, South-Africa, Mediterranean, Middle-East, Far East and Australia.

Logistics

Motorships AS has a long and vast experience with shipping and transport logistics. Based on your needs we will start the prossess with finding the best schedule, transshipment ports, shunting arrangement, reposition of equipment, transport from seller and handling in port of loading. We are centrally located in the logistics hub Port of Drammen, where sea meets the road and railway systems to create a national transport junction.

USA import

Are you dreaming of importing a car from the States? We can arrange pick up from all over the United States and bring it to Drammen. Our established partner and forwarder in the NY through many years takes care of transport, booking and customs.

We offer net prices, meaning that they are the same ones which will be specified in the shipping documents when you collect your car in Drammen.

We use Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics when shipping your car. This is one of the largest shipping companies in the world. Through their own tracking website you can follow your car from the moment when it enters the port in the USA until it arrives at the Port of Drammen.

We can arrange pick up from all over the United States and bring it to Drammen. We transport around 1500 cars from the States to Norway every year and have many regular clients.

Our prices are competitive, charging approximately NOK 11-12.000 from The East Coast and approx. NOK 16-18.000 from the West Coast, depending on the size of the car and exchange rate. Please contact us for more detailed information or to request an estimate.

Inland transport

Through our partners we offer inland transport of all kinds, to and from anywhere in Norway.

Our speciality is transport of large agricultural or industrial machinery and other rolling vehicles, with competitive prices.

Terminal

We can arrange operation of all kinds of ships, from the conventional types to the very largest RORO ships.

Our main target is discharging of new vehicles, meeting the high demands of the importers. No mission is too big – or too small.

Practical information: car pick up

After the car has arrived at the Port of Drammen, you will receive a notification by email.
You will then have to bring the documents you have received to the custom office, in order to pay value added tax (VAT).
The car will be released when we receive a receipt for paid VAT, plus confirmation of payment of our invoice for shipping and port costs.
We would like to inform that a cost for additional storage will apply for cars not collected within 3 days after the day of arrival.
